Hundreds of students who were refused a study visa (F1) by various US Consulates this year are now in a fix. With theUS government deciding to change its policy and open slots for those previously refused only late August, it has left these students no choice but to move their academic sessions to the next semester and be ready to spend more.
To top it, many US universities have revised their admission criteria due to high demand among Indian students, making it tougher to make the cut. For instance, the Duolingo score cut-off has been enhanced for students who reapply for fresh i20 certificates. The Duolingo score is used to gauge a a student's English skills and i20 certificate is like an acceptance letter from a university and a must to apply for USA visa.
